Hounslow Council would like to invite you to celebrate Black History Month with its third sector community groups, residents, and staff. The theme for this year is ‘Celebrating our Sisters’, highlighting the crucial role that Black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change, and building communities. Black women have always been at the forefront of social justice movements, fighting against oppression and paving the way for change. This year is a momentous opportunity to both recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of Black women, with a focus on honouring the matriarchs of movements and saluting our sisters in British society, as well as our local and inspirational Black women in Hounslow in various fields – from literature, music, science, politics and social care to campaigners, nurses and everyday heroes who have made a difference to our lives.

Refreshments will be provided.
