So what’s it all about?

AdviceAid aims to help local authorities meet their advice- giving duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.  It provides an easy to use online database of advice snippets covering tenant rights, benefits, eviction and more. The advice snippets are written and updated by experts from Shelter, but local authorities can add their own content tailored to their specific regional context.  AdviceAid is designed to work alongside and complement existing case management systems.

We spoke to Peter McGuire, CEO and Co-Founder of AdviceAid:

How did you get involved with London Ventures?

I was introduced to London Ventures through our business partners at Shelter (Training & Publications), who are market leaders in support and training in the housing sector, and whose collective knowledge is second to none. London Ventures recognised that AdviceAid has the potential to help local authorities in light of the new legislation.
