Summary
In 2015 City Bridge Trust commissioned London Funders, to co-produce a report to on the future of support to civil society (the third sector) in London. The final report, The Way Ahead- Civil Society at the Heart of London, was published in April 2016. Members were provided with the Executive Summary at their meeting of 13 July 2016.
At its meeting of 23 November 2016, members of the Grants Committee approved the proposal that officers work with City Bridge Trust to take forward the work on the implementation of the review into infrastructure support in London including providing leadership in the third sector and influencing the spend of a central pool of funding of independent funders.
The recommendations of the original report have continued to be developed by a group of key partners, known as the Systems Change Group and a draft plan for putting the recommendations of the report into action has recently been drafted and are due to be circulated to the wider sector on the 22 June.
Recommendations
Members are asked to:
1. note the work of the boroughs and London Councils to date in terms of the Way Ahead Systems Change Group
2. note the draft change plan produced by the Systems Change Group and discuss activities proposed for the boroughs and London Councils.
