London in Brief is our series of online events exclusively for councillors, keeping you up to date and informed on a broad range of issues that affect Londoners.
As elected councillors, it's essential to recognise that modern slavery still exists in various forms in the UK, including in London. This includes trafficking individuals into criminal activities, subjecting victims to sexual exploitation, domestic slavery, and forcing them into labour in sectors such as construction, shops, nail bars, car washes, or manufacturing, among others. Join the Human Trafficking Foundation to learn about its prevalence, how boroughs are tackling it, and how you can contribute as councillors to combat this issue.
Speaker: Robyn Phillips, Director of Operations at the Human Trafficking Foundation
Chair: Cllr Jas Athwal, London Councils’ Executive member for community safety and violence against women and girls, and Leader LB Redbridge
