The last URBACT Action Planning Networks call has opened on 7 January 2019, and will close on 17 April 2019. The objective of Action Planning Networks is to make 7 to 10 cities come together to test out common solutions to a specific urban sustainability challenge. They have identified ten main challenges. T04 (supporting the shift to a low carbon economy), T05 (promoting climate change adaptation) and T07 (promoting sustainable transport) are particularly relevant. For this call URBACT has invited authorities that haven’t in the past been involved with the programme to join.
In the past, the London borough of Westminster has led an URBACT Action Planning Network, Freight TAILS. The project dealt with urban logistics challenges and united 10 partners from accross the EU.
An information day will be taking place on 5 February 2019 in London.
NB. The terms of reference of the call underline that ‘the modalities of funding partners from United Kingdom will be determined as part of the Brexit negotiations’. For Brexit updates, please click here.
