Adaptation and Flooding

Key areas of work

LEDNet’s initial work on Adaptation and Flooding will focus on

  • Supporting collaborative planning for pan-London climate adaptation and resilience, particularly through the Resilient and Green Climate programme.

  • Collaborating with the GLA, NAAP, national government departments and others to clarify and strengthen the policy and funding framework supporting boroughs’ role in delivering climate adaptation, across all the risks in the UK Climate Change Risk Assessment.

  • Contributing to the London Review of Flooding and associated recommendations, and increased engagement with Thames Water, Ofwat, London Councils and other key players.

  • Sharing and scaling practice to understand the impacts and approaches being adopted across London and beyond, the environmental interventions that can increase climate adaptation and resilience, and the approach different boroughs are taking to planning and resourcing this work.

  • Exploring nature-based solutions (noting the link to 3Ci/green finance and to healthy environment/green infrastructure work).
