In the course of 2021, the Young People's Education and Skills Board developed its role in the context of London’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The team at London Councils maintained communications with colleagues in London’s local authorities and other partners and stakeholders through regular Policy Updates and briefings. These proved to be a valued resource at a time when meetings were not taking place regularly and have continued in a slightly different form since restrictions have changed.
The process through which our Annual Plan for 2021 to 2022 has been developed includes:
- The production of a Summary of the Evidence Base – a succinct digest of the key findings from the research reviewed in our Policy Updates / Briefings and an analysis of performance data – followed by consultation with partners and stakeholders to ensure that our plans are based on a consensus on the issues affecting the education and training of 16 to 18 year-olds in London.
- Agreement of Signposts to Action – a record of the conclusion of discussions by the Young People's Education and Skills Board and with other partners and stakeholders, resulting in a set of policies, strategies and activities that address the major issues identified in the Summary of the Evidence Base
- Publishing an Action Plan, which demonstrates how action will be taken using the resources available.
