Young People's Education and Skills Annual Plan

In the course of 2021, the Young People's Education and Skills Board developed its role in the context of London’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The team at London Councils maintained communications with colleagues in London’s local authorities and other partners and stakeholders through regular Policy Updates and briefings. These proved to be a valued resource at a time when meetings were not taking place regularly and have continued in a slightly different form since restrictions have changed.

The process through which our Annual Plan for 2021 to 2022 has been developed includes:

  • The production of a Summary of the Evidence Base – a succinct digest of the key findings from the research reviewed in our Policy Updates / Briefings and an analysis of performance data – followed by consultation with partners and stakeholders to ensure that our plans are based on a consensus on the issues affecting the education and training of 16 to 18 year-olds in London.
  • Agreement of Signposts to Action – a record of the conclusion of discussions by the Young People's Education and Skills Board and with other partners and stakeholders, resulting in a set of policies, strategies and activities that address the major issues identified in the Summary of the Evidence Base
  • Publishing an Action Plan, which demonstrates how action will be taken using the resources available.

These three key documents are available for download (these are shown to the right of the screen as ‘related documents’). Further updates will be published here in the course of 2022.
