Boroughs and Businesses Support Seminar

9th May: 2pm - 4pm

At London Councils, 59½ Southwark Street

What does effective business support look like in an economy as varied as London?  Rapidly evolving business needs and a crowded market of those already providing business support services adds to the complexity of ensuring meaningful provision.

Also given the financial constraints faced by boroughs what is our role in business support?

There will be a series of presentations on what lessons can be learnt to ensure support that has a real impact.

As well as providing an opportunity for boroughs to exchange good practice, this discussion is also part of the development of London Councils’ Charter for Business, setting out how local authorities can better support their economy.

The discuss will also inform London’s evolving Local Industrial Strategy and defining priorities in areas such as:

  • Supporting businesses
  • Inclusive innovation
  • Supporting start up and entrepreneurship (particularly programmes aimed at disadvantaged groups)
