This event provides the opportunity for Members to influence the upcoming refresh of the VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) strategy for London and to ensure that borough priorities are reflected in its development as part of the consultation process.
Members will hear from the Deputy Mayor of Policing and Crime, Sophie Linden, about progress on the development of the refreshed VAWG strategy, with the opportunity to respond from a local authority perspective.
The event will be hosted by Cllr Peck, Executive member for crime and public protection, and will consider what implications the refreshed VAWG strategy may have for local authorities and some of the challenges facing boroughs in tackling VAWG.
