Guy Ware, presently Strategic Director at Lambeth Council, will join London Councils as Director of Finance, Performance and Procurement in September.

"I am very pleased that Guy will be joining London Councils at this critical time for the capital and its boroughs," said Chair of London Councils, Mayor Jules Pipe. "His talents will be much needed over the next twelve months as we seek to exploit the potential of devolution and ensure that the Comprehensive Spending Review recognises the importance of integrated local services in meeting the needs of Londoners."

Guy Ware, said: "London’s boroughs have a recognised expertise in financial leadership and management which has meant that they have been able provide members with excellent advice and support during the very challenging austerity of recent years. With the potential for transforming services through devolution becoming more realistic, I look forward to working with colleagues across London to ensure that the opportunities can be translated into sustainable benefits for Londoners."

Guy has been Strategic Director at Lambeth Council since 2013 and is also Lambeth’s Section 151 Officer. The team he currently manages helps those working for the council and its partners do their jobs as easily, efficiently, creatively and collaboratively as possible.

Guy was previously Director of Strategic Finance and has worked for a number of other London boroughs, including Lewisham, Southwark and Enfield, where he was Director of Finance and IT.  He spent five years working for central government as the London Regional Director of Local Government Practice.
