The final report from The Supporting London Boroughs Engagement Project has just been launched at a meeting of the London Community Engagement Network. This project was funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and led by London Councils. The grants enabled the boroughs who took part to carry out innovative community engagement projects including:
- The establishment of Kingston Disability Network
- Improving access to councils services for those who are deaf or hard of hearing
- The use of human libraries to record individuals experiences in Westminster
- Empowering two estates in Islington to vote for the community projects of their choice – using participatory budgeting.
This report and Impact Gallery were produced by Neighbourly Lab, our Learning Partner who supported the 13 boroughs and are working to share the learning and good practice from these projects as widely as possible. They highlight the key challenges faced by the projects, their impact and emerging legacies.
The final report and the Impact Gallery will be invaluable reading for those who are keen to find out the practical learnings from the projects and the ingredients for successful community engagement.
