The Small Business Friendly Borough Awards organised by the London Region of The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and London Councils are an opportunity to celebrate projects or initiatives delivered by the London boroughs, which have a positive impact on London’s small business community.
The Awards, now in their fourth year, provide an excellent platform for London’s 33 local authorities, including the City of London, to highlight their business-friendly policies and procedures.
The closing date for this year’s nominations is 10 February 2017.
Award categories are:
- Best All-Round Small Business Friendly Borough
This award commends councils for successfully implementing wide-ranging policies to support and develop the local micro and small business community.
- Best Small Business Friendly Procurement to Support Local Trade
This award celebrates council procurement activities that have enabled local micro and small businesses to gain access to public sector and other local contracts.
- Best Programme of Support for Small Businesses
This award recognises programmes of support around a particular theme, which have encouraged and supported the borough’s micro and small business community.
- Best Small Business Champion
This award recognises individuals who have led work to support and promote small businesses in their borough. This award is open to both officers and members and separate awards will be made for each.
Councils can nominate projects delivered in 2015/16 or 2016/17 in any of the award categories and can submit nominations in as many categories as they wish, but these must be separate and clearly defined programmes.
