Welcome to the London Lorry Control Scheme

We provide information for truck drivers, hauliers, logistics and transport managers.

The Lorry Control Scheme takes the form of controls on the movement of any heavy goods vehicles over 18 tonnes maximum gross weight at night and at weekends.

The restrictions are in place on the use of heavy goods vehicles to help minimise noise pollution in residential areas during unsocial hours through restricted use of these roads.

Online applications for the London Lorry Control Scheme

London Councils has now launched an online application form for Lorry Control. This makes it even easier to apply for and update permissions for your fleet. To get started, click on ‘join the scheme’ on the right. For those hauliers who need to apply for permission solely during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, there is a special temporary permit available for you. Simply complete the form and tick the relevant box on the ‘frequency’ page. Opens in a new window
