Welcome to the London Lorry Control Scheme

We provide information for truck drivers, hauliers, logistics and transport managers.

The Lorry Control Scheme takes the form of controls on the movement of any heavy goods vehicles over 18 tonnes maximum gross weight at night and at weekends.

The restrictions are in place on the use of heavy goods vehicles to help minimise noise pollution in residential areas during unsocial hours through restricted use of these roads.

Online applications for the 2012 Games

London Councils will shortly be launching an online application process which will make it even easier to apply for and update permissions for your fleet. This will be introduced well in time for the 2012 Games. For those hauliers who will be affected by the Lorry Control Scheme as a result of Games-time restrictions, we will also be introducing a special temporary permit. Please check back again soon for more details. Opens in a new window

We have also produced a 2012 Games Enforcement Factsheet, which you can download. Opens in a new window
