LEPT Activity

CIVITAS - Polis EV Workshop – Rotterdam

Andy Luck, Transport Manager for LEPT, attended and presented at the CIVITAS – Polis EV workshop which looked at the challenges and solutions of charging infrastructure deployment across Europe. The two day event was attended by a number of delegates and included a variety of presentations in these four areas:  ‘Charging in Residential Areas’, ‘Interoperability and Services’, ‘Location of Charging Infrastructure’ and ‘Developing a Business Case for Charging Infrastructure’.

The meeting was followed by a Polis working group discussion around the upcoming EU funding opportunities under the Horizon 2020 Calls for Proposals. The requirements for each call were analysed in more detail and topics for potential consortia and proposals were discussed.

ERTRAC / EPoSS / SmartGrids Electrification Roadmap working group – Berlin

Andy Luck, Transport Manager for LEPT, attended the above working group discussion on 15 July which is looking to develop version 3.0 of the European Roadmap for the Electrification of Road Transport. The working group looks to assess the current set of objectives for the development of the electrification of road transport, whilst setting new milestones up to 2030 in the areas of energy storage systems, drive train technologies, system integration, grid integration, transport networks and safety. The recommendations and requirements outlined within this roadmap will feed into the future PPP research and development tasks and will form the basis of future European funding programmes. LEPT were specifically interested in users’ expectations around charging infrastructure, which has been included in the document for the first time.
