The LEPT Annual Conference 2010 was held on Monday 29th March at London South Bank University's Keyworth Centre, SE1. It was held in partnership with the PIMMS-TRANSFER project.
This year the format was a little different; we aimed to provide a lot more variety to the day through the provision of a series of interactive workshops on a number of transport and mobility themes.
90 delegates joined us in Elephant and Castle for a packed day of discussion and best practice exchange. Of those 90 delegates, 31 were Borough Officers from 22 different boroughs, plus a further eight Borough Partnership Officers representing six Borough Partnerships. Joining them were representatives from the Highways Agency, The Greater London Authority, London Councils, Transport for London and several EU Municipalities. We were also joined by representatives from three major European City Networks - EUROCITIES, POLIS and CIVITAS. As well as representatives from the public sector, the Conference also attracted representatives from four NGOs, three Universities and 12 private consultancies.

The day saw 24 presentations across 12 different workshops, with presenters from London, as well as other UK Councils, five different EU Municipalities and several consultancies. All of the presentations were well received, and the feedback from the Evaluation Forms gave scores of on average 4 out of 5 for quality, with no workshop receiving lower than 3 out of 5. This new conference format of inter-active workshops seems to have worked very well, and we will be aiming to build on its success next year.
The Plenary Discussion, which focused on Carbon Reduction in Transport and Personal Carbon Reduction, also received very good feedback from our delegates, again getting an average score of 4 out of 5 on the feedback forms we received. The video of this session is being prepared for uploading at the moment, and will be available to view very soon.
