European Networks

There are several large European networks. The main six are listed below; please click on the logo for more information about the organisation.

LEPT is a member of the European networks of POLIS and EUROCITIES. As such, this gives all LEPT member boroughs access to their services, such as:

  •        Forums to learn and exchange best practice on a variety of transport and sustainability-related issues
  •        Briefings from the European Commission on latest funding opportunities
  •        A medium to devise pan-EU project ideas and to bid for EU funding
  •        POLIS and EUROCITIES also form powerful lobbying groups for urban transport policy and funding in the EU institutions
  •        Membership of the various Working Group themes such as
  •        Road Safety
  •        Transport and Environment
  •        Intelligent Transport Systems
  •        Transport and Health
  •        Social and Economic Aspects of Transport

LEPT gives borough officers the opportunity to become one of six LEPT Reps. This allows them to sit on the working group of their choice and to play a more hands-on role of engaging both their own borough priorities, and those of the other London Boroughs. The current list of these representatives can be downloaded here.

Liz Brooker, from the London Borough of Lewisham, currently sits as Chair of the EUROCITIES Working Group on Road Safety. As part of this role, she would like to invite boroughs officers to comment on the work of the group, and engage with their current priorities. Members can click here to view the latest request for information / input from Liz Brooker and that Working Group.

Event Reports from the Working Groups can be found here. Please note that you need to be a member to access these Reports.
