The Partnering Inspiration 4 Delivery publication features a range of case studies that show how different partnerships have come together to address the huge challenges brought about by the changing relationships between public sector bodies and the communities they serve.

The case studies:

  • demonstrate a wide variety of ways that people have worked in partnership to deliver services to the community, for the community, by the community

  • identify the advantages that working together in partnership have brought about, which would not otherwise have been possible, sometimes with unexpected additional benefits being realised

  • offer ways of overcoming challenges which both public and third sector organisations are facing, ranging from reaching excluded communities to supporting community organisations to getting funding through consortia bidding.

They feature a range of service areas:

  • Children and Young People
  • Health and Social Care
  • Crime
  • Infrastructure, Training and Support
  • Cultural and Olympics
  • Housing and Community.

Each contains a variety of different types of partnerships and organisations working in that sector.

They demonstrate how the different ways of working together has secured the necessary resources; delivered high quality results; influenced local policy development; improved services; through bringing together partners from very different backgrounds, but with a common goal and through a shared vision of what more effective services mean to those who use them.

Many of the case studies are particularly inspiring, and those practitioners facing such challenges will likely find a number of examples appropriate for their situation or which will spark imagination for an approach that might just help address a particular challenge.
