background: was looking for work and now works two days a week

Hillside Clubhouse and their delivery partners Peter Bedford Housing Association know from experience that other schemes have failed those with severe mental health issues due to the absence of tailored one to one support.
The “work ordered day” is a real strength of the project, which provides practical hands on experience of running the Clubhouse, including all its operations, reception duties, catering, and maintenance. Participants benefit from this experience prior to entering more formal work in the community or in one of the retail outlets managed by the partners.
Darren Olowe explains how he was looking for work in retail but could not find a job, which led to him going to Hillside Clubhouse. He describes his experience on the project and how it has increased his confidence and motivation. (This interview was with ESF-Works)
