I chose the service because it is the only Portuguese speaking organisation in the area of north London.  I found out about it through a community magazine.

I had a housing problem so I approached Welwitschia. They helped with making initial contact with housing services, filling out forms, interpretation and negotiating on my behalf with the council. In the end I was offered temporary accommodation  by the council.  It did improve my life and that of my family as I now have a council accommodation, a permanent house after a few months in a temporary accommodation.  If it was not for  Welwitschia I would be homeless, living in an overcrowded accommodation with friends. Now I am  doing a carer course at college, preparing for employment.
