Nick came to see the Law Centre because he had been dismissed from a company where he had worked for 27 years – on grounds of redundancy. He told us that there were no prior consultations whatsoever and had no inkling that a redundancy was imminent. In addition, despite several demands and requests to the company to pay his redundancy, notice and holiday pay, the company refused to make payments and kept fobbing him off even though ACAS had intervened.
We advised him generally about his matter and told him what possible claims he could bring against the company. We assisted him with a strongly worded letter before action. On receipt of the letter, the compay accepted liability for the full amount claimed (redundancy pay, notice pay and holiday pay) and eventually the matter was settled without the need to for an Employment Tribunal claim.
Nick is very happy with the service we provided and the outcome of his case as he has now been paid and can get on with his life.
