In January 2009, London Councils Grants Committee agreed to provide eco-audits to a number of second tier organisations that are funded by London Councils. The aim was to identify ways in which the organisations could reduce their environmental impact and in turn try to help make financial savings. Second tier organisations were chosen for the eco-audits to help cascade the learning from the scheme to smaller charities.

London Councils commissioned Global Action Plan to conduct eco-audits to 16 organisations. The eco audits identified large environmental and financial savings for the funded organisations including 16.384 tonnes of carbon dioxide and 140 litres of water.

The London Councils Eco-Audit report Opens in a new window contains the findings of these eco-audits.
