Issue 53: July/August 2008

Making London's democracy work better and getting more people involved in local decision making are the main themes explored in the July/August issue of London Bulletin magazine.

Features include: Mayor of London Boris Johnson, on why he backs a City Charter; Cllr Anjana Patel on why she's backing the 'be a councillor campaign' and Ben Page of Ispos MORI on why Londoners know so little about their local council.

This issue also includes an interview with former Bexley leader Ian Clement on his role as the Mayor's 'enforcer', while Havering leader Cllr Michael White sets out his ambitions to make even the best councils better.
