Be a councillor
London Councils has launched a new website this week that aims to raise awareness of the role of local councillors, and encourage more people to consider standing in the next borough elections in May 2010. The website is part of a project by London Councils, in conjunction with Capital Ambition and the Leadership Centre for Local Government, that will also involve a London-wide poster campaign and newspaper advertising.

Fair funding for social services
London Councils has called on the Department of Health to provide fair funding for adult social services in the capital following the introduction of a revised funding formula that could see vulnerable Londoners lose out on millions of pounds.
