Grants update
Voluntary groups providing services to homeless people, victims of bullying and young people at risk of sexual exploitation in the capital are set to receive a funding boost following a meeting of London Councils' grants committee on 9 January.

Local government finance settlement
On 6 December 2007, the government announced details of the provisional local government finance settlements for 2008/09 to 2010/11.

Freedom Pass
More than one million Freedom Passes that provide free travel to older and disabled Londoners will be renewed over the next three months. A London-wide publicity campaign to alert pass holders will be launched on 5 February. From 1 April 2008 most Freedom Pass holders will, in addition to their current benefits in the capital, be entitled to free local bus travel anywhere in England. The Freedom Pass scheme is paid for by the 32 London boroughs and the City of London.
