Waste management and recycling

New analysis has revealed that the capital’s recycling rate is better than that of many major international cities.  In 2005/06, London’s councils recycled 21 per cent of household waste – equal to Tokyo, but well ahead of both New York (16 per cent) and Paris (12 per cent). Waste management and recycling were on the agenda for London Council’s successful environment conference last week. Over 200 delegates listened to presentations on climate change, waste and transport.
