Freedom Pass misinformation
London Councils has written an open letter to all Londoners to reassure them that there is no threat to the Freedom Pass which has been run by the boroughs for 23 years. The Mayor of London has claimed – wrongly - that London Councils’ attempt to protect council taxpayers from his ability to dictate costs is an attempt at scrapping the scheme.

Council tax levels
All boroughs have now set their final council tax figures for 2007/08. London Councils' council tax monitor, shows London boroughs' band D averages for 2007/08. The average band D council tax for London is £954.76 (an increase of 3.1 per cent) excluding the GLA precept and £1,258.19 (an increase of 3.6 per cent) including the precept.
