The principal aim of this document is to promote public safety in licensed premises. London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) and the London Licensing Authorities agree to work in partnership to achieve this aim.
It seeks to provide a framework to guide future working arrangements and should be seen as a step towards achieving a more effective working relationship between the two agencies.
This Protocol must sit alongside and be carried out in conjunction with the provisions contained in the Licensing Act 2003 and specifically in the Guidance used under Section 182 of the Licensing Act 2003.
The LFEPA and the London Licensing Authorities are keen to advocate recognition of this Protocol and that it's use as a valuable tool to be included in the Statement of Licensing Policy being developed by London Licensing Authorities.
Whilst this Protocol is advocated for use London wide there is recognition that local agreements may be in place and will continue to exist alongside this Protocol.
