London Councils and the City of London commissioned Professor Tony Travers of the London School of Economics and Political Science to write a report on 'Engaging London’s Communities – The Big Society and Localism'. The report was formally launched on Tuesday 17 January with a high profile seminar in Westminster to discuss the report's findings in light of current government reforms. Professor Travers was joined on a panel of speakers by Mayor Jules Pipe, Chair of London London Councils, Rt Hon Francis Maude MP, Minister for the Cabinet Office, and Stuart Fraser, Policy Chairman at the City of London.
