Population and census

Accurate population figures are vitally important for London's businesses and public services.  A quarter of total public sector funding for London is based upon official population data.  Based on one grant alone, an undercount of 10,000 people could lose a borough £60 million in notional funding over a 10-year period.  The Fair Funding team ensures that London’s diverse and mobile population is reflected in official statistics to ensure that it benefits from accurate and robust population statistics.
