About our work
The Fair Funding team is responsible for developing London Councils’ policy on local government finance.
They work with and on behalf of councils, producing research, technical papers and analysis which is used to influence government thinking on all aspects of local government finance. Our work priorities include:
- The Local Government Resource Review
- The financial impact of the 2010 Spending Review
- Population Data (including the 2011 Census and beyond)
- Local Taxation & Financial Incentives
- Capital Finance
- Children’s Services Finance
- Social Care Funding.
To undertake these tasks, the team works closely with finance officers within councils, and with the various professional networks including:
- Society of London Treasurers
- London Finance Advisory Committee
- London Finance Officers Forum.
