The Pan-London Mobility Scheme

London Councils is working with the GLA to establish a pan-London housing mobility scheme for London's social housing tenants.  This will enable them to move across borough boundaries to homes managed by different social housing providers (be they housing associations or other boroughs).

The vast majority of London's social housing tenants will be eligible to register on the scheme, although priority will be given to those moving to gain or to keep employment (or education/training linked to employment); those who are under-occupying their property and those who need to move to provide care and support to others.

The scheme is intended to begin in late 2011/early 2012.
