Healthcare for London: A Framework for Action

Policy area: Health and adult social services

Date of publication: 20 March 2008

File type: DOC Opens in a new window DOC, 250kb

The Healthcare for London review was carried out by Professor Sir Ara Darzi for NHS London.  A final report was published in July 2007.

The review will inform the development London's NHS and other services.   Recommendations are aimed at improving the health of Londoners through effective models of care, specialisation of healthcare and new local services.

Local authorities in London are key partners in achieving the vision.  Boroughs have a key role in shaping the services provided to their communities, working in partnership with the NHS through local area agreements and planning strategies.

This page provides links to resources from London Councils and partner organisations as the work following the review is taken forward.

London Councils commissioned an analysis of the Healthcare for London proposals on behalf of the London Borough's Health Overview and Scrutiny Committees.  This was completed by Dr Fiona Campbell and is attached below.
