Day services for Redbridge and Waltham Forest Learning Disability Partnership underwent a major change following the closure of Chadwell Day Centre. Individuals accessing day services are now in control of choosing activities to help improve their health and well-being. RCHL (Redbridge Community Housing Ltd) Brokerage was commissioned to work closely with people accessing day services and with adults who have a learning disability to help them write personal support plans based on the funds allocated to them.
“Jamal attends Mildmay Community Options and, being in smaller groups, he gets more individual attention which has been beneficial for him. Jamal does more activities in the community and over the last year has acquired many new skills. Working with the brokers has been a good experience. So far as there has not been much concern raised in the last year, although it will be better to get more activities organised for him so that he is challenged and his mind is occupied.”
Redbridge Community Housing Ltd has also be named as the 36th best company to work for in the 2010 Sunday Times list of top 100 firms in the UK.
