CompeteFor

London Development Agency Scheme to maximise local business benefits of 2012 games

London Councils supports the LDA's CompeteFor scheme that gives businesses the opportunity to register for information about contracts generated by the London 2012 Games and matches them with suitable contract opportunities.

About the CompeteFor

London 2012 anticipates that between now and 2012 there will be up to 75,000 business contracts available through the London2012 supply chain. These contracts touch on a wide range of industries from construction to hospitality.

The London Development Agency (LDA) working closely with London Business Network and London 2012 has set up 'CompeteFor', to ensure that businesses across the capital can access these commercial opportunities.

How the scheme works

CompeteFor acts like a 'dating' agency matching buyers throughout the 2012 supply chain with potential suppliers. The service is open to all businesses but is specifically designed to support Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME's) to bid for contracts further down the 2012 supply chain.

Additional support

As well as giving London businesses access to these opportunities, the CompeteFor service also provides access to a wide range of business support services. These services can help an organisation build skills and capacity to put it in the best place to bid not just for opportunities from the 2012 Games but to compete on a global level.
