Winning Higher Apprenticeship Projects Announced
A wide range of projects have been awarded funding to create new apprenticeships at Level 4 and above. New higher frameworks which will be created include facilities management, sustainable building and human resources management. The full list is available here.
Employer Support Announced to Boost Apprenticeships
A number of initiatives to encourage and support businesses to recruit apprentices were announced in November. These include an incentive payment for businesses with less than 50 employees, and a streamlining of the recruitment process to ensure that all vacancies can be advertised within 1 month. London Boroughs create 2000 new Apprenticeships
Over 2000 apprentices have started working for a London borough, or a contractor delivering borough services, since 2009. Borough leaders and chief executives pledged to create 2000 new apprenticeships by 2012, and this target has been met 6 months ahead of schedule - a fantastic achievement.
