Tourism

Tourism is one of the key drivers of London's economy supporting around 260,000 jobs and generating approximately £15 billion in visitor spending each year in the capital.

The London Cultural Improvement Programme has just launched a series of marketing guides Opens in a new window to support  non-marketers working in London’s local authority cultural services to maximise the tourism potential for their authority.

Local government is a significant investor in promoting and developing tourism. London Councils works to support boroughs in maximising the impact of tourism across the city.

Our partners

London & Partners is the official promotional agency for London, attracting and delivering value to businesses, students and visitors. It launched on 1 April 2011, and was created in order to bring together the remits of the capital's promotional agencies: Think London, Study London and Visit London. It aims to create one single promotional agency for London that can speak with one voice, vision and mission to all audiences in the UK and internationally.

London Councils funds London & Partners to deliver a programme of activity focused on London boroughs.

An important aim of the programme is to equip local authorities with the necessary marketing skills to promote their tourism offer effectively. With this in mind, a number of marketing tools have been developed that are practical and easy to use. To view the resources visit the London & Partners website Opens in a new window.
