Purpose
Facilitated by London Councils, the 2012 Lead Officer Network exists to maximise the legacy benefits of London hosting the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to all of our communities by bringing together the 33 London local authorities and sub-regional partnerships to share information, opportunities and best practice.
Objectives
- to update London boroughs and subregions on important issues relating to 2012 and to feedback to partners on local responses to these issues.
- to share best practice and exchange ideas between London boroughs and subregions on 2012 related issues and activities.
- to increase awareness amongst 2012 partners of the work being undertaken by boroughs and their local partners relating to the Games.
- to create stronger links and facilitate better working between the London boroughs and key local, regional and national stakeholders, such as London 2012, the Greater London Authority, the London Development Agency, Government Olympic Executive and other key organisations.
Membership
Membership consists of a nominated lead officer and deputy officer from each of the London local authorities and sub-regional partnerships.
