London Safeguarding Children conference

The London Safeguarding Children Board's annual conference is held in November/December in central London. The conference attracts over 250 delegates, all making key decisions in the boroughs, voluntary sector organisations, statutory services and primary health trusts. Given the topicality of the issues being discussed this will be an essential event for anyone working in area of child protection.

The conference is a forum for professionals, elected members and volunteers in all agencies who have specific responsibilities for safeguarding London’s children, and supporting them and their families. They can exchange ideas and information with representatives from local and central government, social care, education, health, police and the third sector.

The conference also includes the ceremony for the annual Safeguarding London's Children Awards, the first ever multi-agency award for best practice in the capital.  Co-sponsored by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and judged by a panel of experts the award highlights the excellent work that takes place in local practice every day. Click here for more information on these awards.

Cost per delegate is £150+VAT (£100 + VAT for charities and voluntary sector organisations).  Groups of 5+ delegates booking at same time are eligible for a 10% discount.

For information on last year's conference see here. Details on the 2012 conference will be available from June.

Opportunities are still available to either sponsor the conference, or elements of it, as well as exhibit on the day.  If you are interested in any of these opportunities please download the information booklet below or fill in this request for more information form.

The London Safeguarding Children Board is a joint initiative by London Councils, the Metropolitan Police Service, the Association of Directors of Social Services, London NHS, London Probation, and the Association of London Chief Education Officers.
