Joint Teams for London Project
Joint Teams for London Project
The Joint Teams project will increase the number of joint teams in London and increase benefit take-up for pensioners. It is funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). London Councils will work with The Pension Service (part of DWP) and the London boroughs to develop Joint Visiting Teams across London.
Joint teams are made up of Pension Service and London borough staff. The project will also identify how joint teams can include Primary Care Trusts and the voluntary and community sector to address the needs of older people.
Joint Teams visit older people at home to assess their entitlement to a range of services including: state pension, benefits, social services and housing and council tax benefits. Closer working across organisations will result in the complex range of older peoples’ needs being met more effectively.
