London Councils gives rape, domestic violence and sexual abuse victims boost in rebuilding lives
Victims of rape, domestic violence or sexual abuse have been given a boost to help their efforts to rebuild their lives with London Councils providing £6.2 million to organisations giving them support, advice and counselling.
London Councils' Grants Committee has used £4 million to commission 10 organisations to provide support to women affected by domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse through drop-in centres and outreach work. A further £2.2 million is being used to commission seven organisations to provide counselling and psychotherapy support to victims.
Among the groups to receive funding is Women and Girls Network which has been awarded £451,171 to expand their telephone helpline service to run four days a week, develop a new information website and provide outreach workers.
