London's gay, lesbian bisexual and transgender communities helped by London Councils
Schemes to provide London's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities with a greater voice and influence on issues affecting them have received £400,000 in grants from London Councils.
Among the projects that will receive funding are schemes raising awareness of specific issues and the development of support and advice websites.
The funding will help ensure London's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities are able to work more closely with councils and other public bodies to ensure their have a co-ordinated say on a wide range of issues affecting them.
London Councils received eight applications for funding to help provide the capital's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities with a greater voice, with the Grants Committee commissioning two groups.
One in four of all civil partnerships in the UK between December 2005 and September 2006 took place in London.
