Household income distribution in 2006-07
Two thirds of households in Barking and Dagenham and Newham have household incomes below £30,000, data published by the Data Management and Analysis Group reveals.
At the other end of the scale, around one in four households in both the City of London and Richmond upon Thames have household incomes in excess of £60,000.
The table shows the 'equivalised' household income distribution of each London borough. Equivalised income is an adjusted income scale that takes into account the size of a household to reflect the idea that a large household will need a larger income than a smaller household in order to achieve an equivalent standard of living. Household income includes wages, salaries, income from investments and social security benefits.
