Child poverty levels in London

Child poverty in London is made worse by high housing costs. The effect of housing costs on child poverty levels is particularly conspicuous in outer London where the number of children living in poverty leaps from less than one in five before housing costs to one in three once housing costs are taken into account.

Poverty is defined as a household whose income is less than 60 per cent of medium income.
