Government Bills we are working on

The Public Affairs Team is currently working with all policy divisions to influence Bills progressing through Parliament over London wide issues.  The Bills listed below link to the United Kingdom Parliament web site, also updated by the Parliament site manager as they progress. Details of the Committee hearings and debates are further listed.

These Bills include:

• Planning Bill - introduces a new system for approving major infrastructure of national importance, such as harbours and waste facilities, and replaces current regimes under several pieces of legislation. 
  
• Local Transport Bill - looks at important areas of public transport like local bus services and sets out proposals for a more consistent approach to local transport planning.
  
• Draft legislative programme 2008/09 - the Government's draft legislative programme for the next parliamentary year includes a number of Bills that will affect Londoners.
