Improvement
London Councils provides a range of services and advice to boroughs across the capital to help them improve their efficiency and performance. In April 2008 the various strands of work were drawn together under the Capital Ambition name.
The work includes the services previously offered by Capital Ambition, the London Centre of Excellence, and London Connects, as well as the work of London Councils old Improvement & Employment Division.
A new bespoke Capital Ambition website will be available later in the year. Until then, please use the links below to find out more.
Capital Ambition Opens in a new window was set up by London local government to ensure that Londons local government services become leaders for innovation, fairness, relevance, efficiency and effectiveness. Partners include the 32 London boroughs, the City of London, the Greater London Authority and the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority.
The London Centre of Excellence Opens in a new window acts as a catalyst to help the 32 London boroughs, the City of London and the Greater London Authority (GLA) in delivering the efficiency agenda. There are three aspects of their Corporate Governance. These are Managerial Leadership, Political Leadership and Borough Involvement. The London Centre of Excellence (LCE) works closely with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the City of Westminster.
London Connects Opens in a new window is a London-wide agency bringing together local, regional, and central government to support the delivery of the e-government agenda across the capital.
As the Regional Employers Organisation, Capital Ambition also represents the interests of and supports all 32 London boroughs and the City of London in improvement, efficiency and employment.
