Launch of funding

London Councils is seeking applications to deliver the following services:

Service 59a - Treatment service for children and young people who have experienced sexual exploitation.


Service 1a - Enhance Londoners' involvement in cultural activity linked to the themes of the Cultural Olympiad to ensure that communities across London benefit from the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Service 1b - Enhance Londoners ability to engage with volunteering opportunities in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Service 102 - Sector Specific Second Tier Services to the following frontline services: 24, 73 and 75.

 



Description of Service and funding available

Service 59a

A service to support children and young people who have disclosed that they have been or are being sexually exploited, empowering them to accept help. The service should provide these children with therapeutic support and information, including where appropriate, on seeking secure safe accommodation. The therapeutic support could include counselling, advice, and peer-group work.

£126,738 is available per year, for up to four years.



Service 1a

A service to address the need to enhance Londoners' involvement in the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games by supporting cultural activities to ensure that communities across London benefit from the Games.

£300,000 is available per year, for up to three years.



Service 1b

The vision for the 2012 Volunteer Programme is to create a strong, diverse and trained volunteer 'workforce' of up to 70,000 people that supports a spectacular Olympic and Paralympic Games in London in 2012. It is estimated that at least 50,000 volunteers used to support the games will come from Greater London. This service addresses the need for a trained volunteer 'workforce' at the 2012 Games by supporting volunteering activities and opportunities across London, and ensuring that London's communities are engaged and benefit from the Games.

£150,000 is available per year, for up to three years.



Service 102

This service is required to support the co-ordination, support and professional delivery of high quality frontline services in the Health and Social Care sector,
specifically for the frontline organisations commissioned by London councils to deliver services under specifications: 24, 73 and 75.

£100,000 per year, for up to four years.

Decisions are likely to take place at London Councils Grants Committee, January 2009.
