Making a new application for a Freedom Pass

First you need to see which type of pass you are eligible to apply for - there are three types of pass:

If you had not renewed your pass during the reissue period of January to end of May 31 2010, all applications for the Freedom Pass will be considered as new applications and be processed by the Post Office or your Local Authority depending on the borough in which you live.


Older person's Freedom PassOlder persons pass (national scheme)
Check your eligibility and fill out your form online. Note that the eligible age changes from 6 April 2010.

 


Disabled person's Freedom PassDisabled persons pass (national scheme)

How to apply for your Freedom Pass

You will need to take your application to the Post Office, unless you live in one of the following boroughs:

What to do

  1. Complete the application form online and then print it (in black and white or colour). You can also pick up a form from the Post Office if you prefer.
  2. Get a passport sized photograph from a booth such as Photo-Me Opens in a new window
  3. Take all the right documents with you to the Post Office including a completed Freedom Pass application form.
