London Summit 2009

The London Summit is London Councils’ annual free conference for borough councillors and chief officers.

In 2009, the free conference brought together more than 300 existing borough councillors and candidates for the local government elections in May 2010 to explore

• why local politics matters
• how local politicians can build people’s trust
• what Londoners consider to be the big issues and how they’ll affect doorstep campaigning

Just as importantly, the programme for the day allowed plenty of time to meet and chat with colleagues from other boroughs, between sessions, over lunch and at the afternoon political network meetings.

Thanks to the generous support of the City of London Corporation, the Leadership Centre for Local Government and Capital Ambition, the entire day was free to delegates.
