About our work

The Prosperous Communities team focuses on economic development, including improving skills, promoting enterprise, reducing worklessness and welfare reform. We aim to give boroughs the resources and powers to build strong local economies.

Our current and future work includes:

• influencing the London Skills and Employment Board's adult skills strategy
• research into local employment services across London boroughs
• influencing the implementation of the sub-national review
• working with boroughs to implement some of the recommendations of the London Child Poverty Commission - including welfare reform and City Suburbs
